USHI JAPAN JOURNEY / CREW

Run across Japan together,
let's hit the road and tell the story.

Spend three months traveling across Honshu, visiting campgrounds and events, and sharing the trailer and everyday life — this is “USHI JAPAN JOURNEY.”
We're looking for crew to travel with us.

Period: Mar-May 2025 (3 months)
Area: Honshu (main)
Contract: Contractor
Monthly fee: JPY 300,000
A three-month plan that combines self-discovery with launching a new business project.
#Camp × Work #Work while traveling #Trailer caravan

Our founder built his own foundation through travel and study abroad. This project is about making it “your turn” next.

Why this project matters to us

When I was younger, I ran into all kinds of the unexpected while traveling or studying abroad. There were plenty of surprises, but looking back, those experiences are the most vivid memories that shaped who I am today.

That's why this project isn't just a "journey to spread our work." Moving the challenge of USHI Outdoors Japan forward matters, but above all we want to center the encounters and realizations that only happen because you're on the road.

  • The moments you step into worlds you normally couldn't.
  • The moments, in the middle of work or travel, when you notice the warmth of human connection.
  • And the moments you realize that working is far more interesting than you expected.

Time spent re-examining yourself isn't a backward step. I see it as a forward-looking process to enrich what comes next.

These three months aren't only for the company. They're also "time to take on challenges" to expand your own potential.

USHI JAPAN JOURNEY is a project, and at the same time it's a field to upgrade your life.

What the travel crew does

1 | Travel Japan with the trailer

  • Drive across Honshu in a company car plus USHI trailer (about three months)
  • Follow a planned route of campgrounds, events, and sightseeing spots while flexibly adjusting for weather and conditions

2 | Create and post daily SNS content

  • Shoot the journey in photos and video
  • Edit short videos/stories on your phone and on the go
  • Aim for one post per day, sharing both the “look” and the “real”

3 | On-site promotion and sales

  • Welcome visitors at campgrounds and event venues
  • Introduce Ushi Outdoors and the USHI trailer with simple pitches
  • Share information and contacts with interested people (contracts/invoicing handled by HQ)

A day in the journey (model case)

One example of what a day could look like. We'll adapt to the route, weather, and event schedule.

The actual schedule will change based on travel, weather, and on-site conditions.

  • 07:00
Wake up at the campsite or rest area. Stretch and review the route.
  • 07:30
Make camp breakfast and film it. Even breakfast becomes content.
  • 09:00
Start driving. Capture driving scenes where the scenery is great.
  • 11:00
Break at a roadside station/SA. Jot ideas and organize assets.
  • 12:00
Edit time. Cut and assemble that day's short video/photos on your phone.
  • 13:00
Back on the road. If there's a detour spot, shoot it and keep moving.
  • 15:00
Arrive. Shoot the best cuts of the USHI trailer and scenery.
  • 16:00
Set up and prep for display. Eat. Capture behind-the-scenes moments too.
  • 18:00
Edit and post the day's highlights. Quick reflection.
  • 22:00
Sleep. Check the next day's weather and route, then rest.

Who we're looking for

Must-haves

  • In your 20s–40s
  • Hold a regular driver's license and are comfortable driving
  • Have camping experience (no need to be hardcore)
  • Okay with SNS posting and appearing on camera
  • Legally able to work in Japan

Nice-to-haves

  • Post regularly on Instagram or TikTok
  • Experience or strong interest in editing short videos on a phone
  • Experience in customer service, event ops, or sales
  • Ready to commit to the full three-month caravan
  • Used to long drives and sleeping in the car

Likely mismatches

  • Really struggle with long drives or sleeping in the car
  • Strong resistance to showing your face or posting on SNS
  • Get extremely stressed by schedule changes or travel hiccups
  • Current health/fitness makes a three-month run difficult

In short, we hope for people who can enjoy a bit of chaos and find both travel and work fun.

Which of these “travel skills” do you have?

Tell us the ones that fit you when you apply. The team will be excited to hear.

Travel stamina +
Long drives / car overnights / roadside adaptability

Long drives, car camping, and brushing teeth at rest stops feel normal. Small troubles are “part of the trip” you can shrug off.

Content buff
Short-form editing crew

You naturally boil stories down to a 30-second clip and love shooting. More than follower count, you care whether the mood gets across.

Field improviser
Make it work on site

Even if you forget something, you hack a solution on site. A “let's just start the fire” mindset that resets the situation.

Direction sense Lv.MAX
Connecting map and reality

You somehow know “north is this way.” You can tie the map app to real scenery and don't panic when off route.

Editing-ready
Ship first, polish later

You can trim clips on your phone—or are confident you'll learn in seconds if shown. You prioritize shipping over perfection.

Local food hunter
Supermarkets are treasure troves

You discover deli items and local foods at supermarkets as “treasures.” When you ask for recommendations, you actually go.

Ad-hoc talker
Low wall with strangers

You can chat with new people starting from “How was dinner last night?” No big topic needed—you can just talk.

Animal friendly
Mostly friends

Encounters with cats, deer, monkeys, dogs, or cows put you in a happy mood. You might even name them and feel a little sad to part.

Packing Tetris Lv.MAX
Space magician

You pack “no way that'll fit” luggage neatly into the trailer. After packing, things are somehow more organized than before.

Go-with-the-flow
“Sounds fun” becomes action

You can say “that sounds fun, let's try it.” You're willing to set the tone so everyone else can enjoy it too.

If even one of these feels like “me,” this journey probably fits you. Skills level up after we start—that's the default.

2) Work history (required)

Employment type doesn't matter—full-time, part-time, freelance, volunteer, etc.

3) Motivation report (A4, required)

On about one A4 page, please cover these three points:

Format is free (essay or bullet points are both okay), but please write in your own words.

[Important] No AI text generators
Please do not use AI text generators such as ChatGPT when writing your motivation report. Light support like spellcheck is fine, but the writing itself should be your own. We'll talk about the report directly during interviews.
